Are Government Documents peer-reviewed or scholarly sources?

Answer

The government produces a large amount of publications including congressional, agency and administrative reports from hundreds of departments and agencies. Most of these publications are considered to be authoritative and credible. However, while some government reports may undergo internal review processes, not all of these documents are considered peer-reviewed or scholarly.

For more information on how to find peer-reviewed articles, explore the library’s Searching for Peer-Reviewed Articles Research Guide.
